Paramore’s Hayley Williams, St. Vincent, Lucy Dacus, and over a dozen other artists have been announced to play G*ve a F*ck LA, a benefit concert and auction to help the victims of the California wildfires. Muna, Courtney Barnett, Jenny Lewis, Perfume Genius, Christopher Owens, Finneas, Fred Armisen, Kevin Morby, Juliette Lewis, Phantom Planet, Reggie Watts, Sasami + Rostam, Scout Willis, the Linda Lindas, and Symone will also take part in the one-night-only event, with John C. Reilly set to host.
G*ve a F*ck LA will take place on February 5 at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium. Surprise guests are promised to appear, Harmony Tividad and Fat Tony will do DJ sets, and an afterparty with Rico Nasty and Dylan Brady is also billed. All proceeds from the event will benefit local organizations Altadena Girls, Friends in Deed, One Voice, and Pasadena Humane Society, and all venue and ticketing service fees will be waived. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, January 28 at 12 p.m. Pacific. Fans who can’t attend are invited to watch a livestream of the show on Veeps with a $5 minimum donation.
Several other star-studded benefit concerts are raising money to help offset the damage of the California wildfires, too; I Love LA boasts sets by Bright Eyes, Jim James, Andrew Bird, Dirty Projectors’ David Longstreth, and more, while a new concert headlined by Blink-182 and Alkaline Trio was just announced. The biggest of the bunch is FireAid, which has Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Peso Pluma, Stevie Wonder, Green Day, and many more slated to perform.
Since the fires broke out two weeks ago, ravaging parts of Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Altadena, the music community has come together to show support for those affected. Beyoncé’s BeyGood announced a $2.5 million donation for relief efforts, the Recording Academy and MusiCares set aside $1 million for relief efforts aimed at musicians and other industry professionals, and numerous artists have banded together to donate funds from compilation albums.
